Disability insurance can keep you financially stable should you become disabled and unable to work. It can help provide a sense of security, knowing that if the unexpected should happen, you’ll still receive a monthly income.
Voluntary Short-Term Disability (STD)
You are eligible to receive STD benefits after you have been disabled for 7 days due to a non – work – related illness or injury. Class 1 employees: Replaces up to 2 0% of your eligible income, up to a maximum of $ 2,000 per week. Class 2 employees: Replaces up to 6 0% of your eligible income, up to a maximum of $ 2,000 per week. Benefits end after 12 weeks.
Voluntary Long-Term Disability (LTD)
- You are eligible to receive LTD benefits after 90 days of disability.
- Replaces up to 66.66% of your eligible income, up to a maximum of $10,000 per month until you recover or reach your Social Security Normal Retirement Age, whichever is sooner.
